Frequently Asked Questions

Breedables Basics

There are several ways you can buy horses:
Visit the Darkmoon Breedables Shop inworld and purchase a starter pack of horses. Check out the markets that have sprung up, where people have their horses up for sale. You can even go to an auction and purchase one or two!

When you purchase a starter pack from the Darkmoon Breedables Shop, simply click the Home (the barn), and a blue box will come up. Just click on "Rez Starter."

If you purchased a horse from another breeder, whether it was at a market or auction, or direct from someone, you will need to have the horse's ID number. Again you will click the Home, and in the blue box choose "Redeliver." You then can type in the ID number of the horse you purchased, and it will magically appear in your barn!

Darkmoon Breedables are exclusive to DigiWorldz™.

Care & Feeding

The horses eat once per hour. Juveniles eat the Non-Breeding Food. Once the horses mature at five days of age, they will switch to the Breeding Food.

Salt is used to keep the horses happy.

Starter packs of horses and supplies can be purchased in the Shop at the Darkmoon Breedables region.

Breeding

Horses take five days to mature. Once they are mature, Heat needs to rise to 100%. At that point you can mate your horses. Once pregnant, the gestation period is three days.

In your Breedables HUD, click to the last page. At the bottom left click the "Set Mate" button. In the box that appears, click on the horse that you want to breed your horse with. The blue box will confirm that you have set a mate to breed with.

If you do NOT do this, the horse will auto-breed with the horse closest to it that is of breeding age and has achieved 100% Heat.

Horses can breed as soon as their Heat reaches 100%. They can continue to breed until they retire at 90 days.

To prevent auto-mating among unmated horses, you must keep the mares and stallions far enough apart—outside their Range. You set the Range in the Breedables HUD. Horses that have been mated with another via the HUD will mate no matter how far apart they are, even on separate regions.

Starter horses are considered Generation 0. Their offpsring are 1st Generation, and theirs will be 2nd Gen, and so on.

In the case of horses of different generations mating—for instance, a Gen 3 mates with a Gen 2—the offspring will go to the lower generation of its two parents (the furthest removed from the starter generation). In this example, the foal would be a Gen 3.

Mating stays set until the mare is pregnant, they cannot be unmated. Horses that have been mated via the HUD will mate no matter how far apart they are, even on separate regions. They will automatically complete the cycle once both horses are ready (Heat is at 100%).

Health & Wellness

Recovery is the time it takes your horse to be able to start gaining Ardor after having a foal. Recovery takes two days.

This will happen if you ride your horse—just like in real life, the horses get tired and need a break. Rest is the best cure. You can also purchase a potion to speed that process along at the Darkmoon Breedables Shop.

Yes, the horses can get sick. Usually they will improve on their own if the appropriate food is provided. For faster improvement, you can purchase some Vitamin Hor-C at the Darkmoon Breedables Shop.

No, Darkmoon Breedables horses do not die. At 90 days of age they will retire and no longer be breeding animals. They will automatically switch to the Non-Breeding Food, so you will want to make sure you always have that available.
